The Browns Tree Solutions Team
Ray Brown - Business Founder
“I generally spend my time quoting and running the business but, can often be seen helping the guys out on site, drinking tea, and chatting. In my spare time I enjoy listening to and creating music, I play the bass and am currently learning to play the Saxophone. I love being outdoors and testing my limits, I have climbed the 3 UK peaks many times. I also enjoy watching Rugby and taking my youngest son to Olney and Northampton Saints Rugby Clubs.
Our tree works take us all over the region, we have completed work for the 2012 Olympics in London, we felled the trees at the Big Brother House and, more locally, we carried out tree operations to enable the new car Park at John Lewis in Centre Milton Keynes to be built.
Over the years I have been fortunate enough to work all over the UK and some of Europe. I have worked in Germany, alongside a world class climber, who then went on to be a Welsh and UK climbing champion; this was very inspirational."
Jazmine Brown - Director
"I help run this business, as well as our Firewood company, Firewood Fuel MK, alongside my Dad, Ray.
I am mainly based in the office and run the admin and financial side of things, as well as overseeing our Operations Manager, who takes care of the rest of our tree family. I am also currently doing online courses to increase my knowledge of trees and arboriculture in general.
I’ve always loved nature, being outdoors and active. I did gymnastics and tumbling for over 10yrs; competing all over the region. Over the years I have also climbed all 3 UK peaks, completed a half marathon and a midnight moo. Myself and a few others also took part in a skydive, to raise money for a local charity: Als Pals, in memory of Suzanne's late father, Alan William Dumbell."
Rik - Operations Manager
"I started working with Browns, alongside studying for my tree course at Moulton college and working at my local Tescos as a customer service assitant and delivery driver. I have now completed my course and am working with Browns full time. It has been great to meet new people and gain more experience and qualifications in the Arboriculture industry, I am thoroughly enjoying my new role, as Operations Manager.
Being outside and active is a must for me, I have always loved being part of a team as well. In the past I played for England U17’s handball team and I completed the Advance Apprenticeship in Sporting Excellence program. I have also studied and lived abroad in Denmark, where I gained a job as a bike mechanic.
I look forward to refining my arboriculture knowledge, gaining more managerial experience and obtaining other tree related qualifications, while working at Browns."
Toby - Groundsman & Trainee Climber
"Since starting with Browns I have already been put through arboriculture courses and gained arboriculture qualifications. I started as a part time subcontractor, mainly being a groundsman but now, I can’t wait to become a fully qualified climber.
I am quite the ninja, always out and about doing free running, I love skateboarding and BMXing; they are real passions of mine. I also like climbing, outside of work, I often meet up with the tree team and do some recreational climbing. I am a thrill seeker for sure and working with Browns has helped me with that passion, I’m really looking forward to progressing in this career."
Jake - Climber & Groundsman
"It was not long after leaving school that I started working for Browns, along with a few friends. I thought it would be a great laugh working with mates and the thought of climbing big trees and being outside every day, seemed quite appealing!
Since leaving school, my biggest achievements have definitely been having my two beautiful children; I love being a Dad and all the responsibility that come with it, even changing the nappies... occasionally. Both my job and being a Dad is a hard graft but, it is also very rewarding which is why I love it.
On site I tend to do a lot of the trimming, pruning, and reducing of trees and hedges; I love a clean-cut hedge, it is so satisfying! But I’m also keen to become a fully qualified climber and look forward to working with Browns to achieve that."
Ryan - Groundsman
"I've enjoyed working at Browns so far and have made good friends with the lads; we often go to the skate park and climbing together, outside of work. I have always enjoyed being active, when I was younger I was a keen footballer and played hockey, I regularly competed as part of a team in these sports. Now I particularly enjoy
skateboarding and travel all over the UK to try new skate parks.
In general, my role on site, is a groundsman. I am always assisting the climbers by dragging and chipping vegegation being cut down or trimmed, loading, unloading and taking care of the vehicles, ensuring the right equipment is taken to every job etc... While on site I am always looking for good photo opportunities as I love making and editing videos in my spare time; I have my own gopro which I bring to site sometimes as well."
Brandon - Groundsman
"Previously I have worked mainly as a Warehouse Operative for numerous companies but, last year I decided it was time for a change and, thought about an outdoor career, which is when I found Browns.
I have had some experience with outdoor work; as a teenager I worked as an assistant landscaper for RTM Landscapes. My role involved mowing, strimming grass and trimming back bushes.
Now working for Browns, I work alongside Ryan as a groundsman, clearing vegetation, assissting with tree and hedge maintenance work like trimming and pruning. It's been great to meet new people and make some sound friends. I'm glad I made the change to work outside and am enjoying being part of the Browns Tree Family."
Frank 'The Boxer' Brown
This is our handsome Frank 'The Boxer' Brown, he is 10 years old (70 in dog years but don't tell him that!). He may be getting older, but he certainly isn't slowing down, he loves going to work every day with Ray and as always, playing with his balls - tennis balls that is!
Getting old isn't always bad, we now refer to Frank as our 'old wise man’; he is such a good role model for Smokey and is always teaching him right from wrong and putting him in his place when he's being a rascal! You’ll often see Frank riding along with Ray in his mini, he loves meeting the customers and assisting Ray with whatever he is up to.
Alan noticed that throughout his treatment, although he was surrounded by his loving family, he still felt very lonely and lost at times, and he often discussed having a ‘buddy’ to support and help him where he felt things were missing. It is his legacy to have a cancer buddy scheme like this and with the passion of his daughter , Al’s Pals was born.
Al’s Pals is a service that supports patients and their families in hospital and at home. We offer support, companionship, empathy and a listening ear to any cancer patient or loved one from the start of their cancer journey through to the end.
Our volunteers understand the needs of someone that has cancer and how this can affect their own lives as well as their families. We can offer support from the start of their cancer journey through to the end. Our volunteers are based in the Milton Keynes University Hospital and we are now also offering an 'at home' service!

Smokey 'Sonic' Brown
Smokey is just over 1 years old, he may be little but is certainly fierce! We often refer to him as 'Sonic the hedgehog' because he is so speedy and loves running round after his big brother, Frank.
If you pop down to our new shop at Lower Rectory Farm, then you will get a cuddle from our little mascot, if you can catch him! Smokey loves to play with tissue and paper so, he helps Jaz by being her personal paper shredder.
As we have two businesses, we are not always looking for someone with Arborist qualifications or experience!
So, if you are a keen outdoor worker and think you would be willing to learn and gain qualifications on the job then this might be the right place for you.
Likewise, if you are a qualified and experienced Arborist then drop us your details and we can let you know if we have any availability for you or at least keep your details on file for any future opportunities.
In general, duties may include being a groundsman and helping our tree surgeons on site, processing our logs and delivering firewood or vehicle and machinery checks and maintenance.
Our newest Browns Tree Family Member, Donnie, is a Rottweiller and currently only 4 months old. Like Donatello from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Donnie is quite the Ninja and is very smart, he loves play fighting with his brother Smokey and chasing after Frank.
At work, Donnie loves greeting anyone who comes into the shop. If you'd like to meet Donnie and the rest of our fur family then feel free to pop down and say hello, you can also view and purchase our Firewood products :)
Wood that is good for burning will be split , processed and stored; once it has had time to season it will be ready to sell. Woodchip will be bagged up, ready to be sold to use around your Paddock or Garden. Excess or unusable wood and chip will be stored seperately, until we are able to sell it as Biomass.
Some of our other products include:
