The Browns Tree Solutions Team

Ray Brown  Business Founder
“I generally spend my time quoting and running the business but, can often be seen helping the guys out on site, drinking tea, and chatting. In my spare time I enjoy listening to and creating music, I play the bass and am currently learning to play the Saxophone. I love being outdoors and testing my limits, I have climbed the 3 UK peaks many times. I also enjoy watching Rugby and taking my youngest son to Olney and Northampton Saints Rugby Clubs.

Our tree works take us all over the region, we have completed work for the 2012 Olympics in London, we felled the trees at the Big Brother House and, more locally, we carried out tree operations to enable the new car Park at John Lewis in Centre Milton Keynes to be built.

Over the years I have been fortunate enough to work all over the UK and some of Europe. I have worked in Germany, alongside a world class climber, who then went on to be a Welsh and UK climbing champion; this was very inspirational."
Jazmine Brown  Company Director
"I help run this business, as well as our Firewood company, Firewood Fuel MK, alongside my Dad, Ray.

I am based in the office with my brother, Dylan. I deal with all things admin and the financial side of things, as well as overseeing our Operations Technician, Rik, who takes care of maintenance and repairs here. I am also currently completing online aboricultural courses to increase my knowledge of trees and arboriculture in general.

I’ve always loved nature, being outdoors and active. I did gymnastics and tumbling for over 10yrs; competing all over the region. Over the years I have also climbed all 3 UK peaks, completed a half marathon and a midnight moo for charity.

As well as being active, I consider myself to be a thirll seeker, completing a in a skydive in 2021, to raise money for a local charity: Als Pals. I can't wait for my next one!"

Rik Boon Surveyor, Loler Inspector, Estimator & Yardsman
"I started working with Browns, alongside studying for my tree course at Moulton college and working at my local Tescos as a customer service assitant and delivery driver. I have now completed my course and am working with Browns full time.

It has been great to meet new people and gain more experience and qualifications in the Arboriculture industry. I enjoy doing different tasks and roles each day, Browns have helped me to become a Loler inspector and I also complete tree reports and site survey for one of our clients on a regular basis.

Being outside and active is a must for me, I have always loved being part of a team as well. In the past I played for England U17’s handball team and I completed the Advance Apprenticeship in Sporting Excellence program. I have also studied and lived abroad in Denmark, where I gained a job as a bike mechanic.

I look forward to refining my arboriculture knowledge and obtaining other tree related qualifications, while working at Browns."

Dylan Brown  Office Admin
"Since finishing school I haven't been sure on where I would like to go next and so I decided to start helping Jaz out in the office with running our family businesses.

Being the muscle man that I am, I have always helped my Dad out on weekends with logging or small tree / hedge jobs but it's nice to be in the office and learn new skills which I can take with me to future jobs.

I am an avid rugby player, I have been playing for Olney Rugby Club since I was around 5 years old. Last year I helped them get to the finals in the national cup, it's a big passion of mine which I hope to continue. As well as rugby, I enjoy going to the gym and training.

While I work with my sister, Jaz and my dad, Ray, I hope to learn new things which I can take with me to future jobs and work. It's rewarding working in the family business and I enjoy speaking to all of our lovely regular customers; many have been customers with my Dad, Ray, well before I was born which is really nice to hear!"

Ryan   Climber
"I enjoy working at Browns and have made good friends with all of the team. I have always enjoyed being active, when I was younger I was a keen footballer and played hockey, I regularly competed as part of a team in these sports. Now I have my own little one I don't always have time to do sports anymore but she certainly keeps me on my toes and I am looking forward to her finding her passions.

While working for Browns I have started gaining my climbing qualifications and becoming more experienced in this role, I am looking forward to progressing as a tree surgeon with Browns and expanding my arboricultural knowledge.

I definitely take a lot of pride in my work and enjoy a satisfying before and after shot. While on site I am always looking for good photo opportunities as I love making and editing videos in my spare time; I have my own gopro which I bring to site sometimes as well."

Brandon  Trainee Climber  & Groundsman
"Previously I have worked mainly as a Warehouse Operative for various companies but, I decided it was time for a change and, thought about an outdoor career, which is when I found Browns.

I have had some experience with outdoor work; as a teenager I worked as an assistant landscaper for RTM Landscapes. My role involved mowing, strimming grass and trimming back bushes.

As well as groundsman duties, I assist with some tree and hedge maintenance work like hedge trimming and small tree pruning. It's been great to meet some sound friends. I'm glad I made the change to work outside and am enjoying being part of the Browns Tree Family and progressing as a tree surgeon as they put me through my courses."

Frank 'The Boxer' Brown
This is our handsome Frank 'The Boxer' Brown, he is 10 years old (70 in dog years but don't tell him that!). He may be getting older, but he certainly isn't slowing down, he loves going to work every day with Ray and as always, playing with his balls - tennis balls that is!

Getting old isn't always bad, we now refer to Frank as our 'old wise man’; he is such a good role model for Smokey and is always teaching him right from wrong and putting him in his place when he's being a rascal! You’ll often see Frank riding along with Ray in his mini, he loves meeting the customers and assisting Ray with whatever he is up to.
Smokey 'Sonic' Brown
Smokey is 2.5 years old, he may be little but is certainly fierce! We often refer to him as 'Sonic the hedgehog' because he is so speedy and loves running round after his big brother, Frank.

If you pop down to our new shop at Lower Rectory Farm, then you will get a cuddle from our little mascot, if you can catch him! Smokey loves to play with tissue and paper so, he helps Jaz by being her personal paper shredder.

Opportunities

As we have two businesses, we are not always looking for someone with Arborist qualifications or experience!

So, if you are a keen outdoor worker and think you would be willing to learn and gain qualifications on the job then this might be the right place for you.

Likewise, if you are a qualified and experienced Arborist then drop us your details and we can let you know if we have any availability for you or at least keep your details on file for any future opportunities.

In general, duties may include being a groundsman and helping our tree surgeons on site, processing our logs and delivering firewood or vehicle and machinery checks and maintenance.

FIREWOOD FUEL

Wood that is good for burning will be split , processed and stored; once it has had time to season it will be ready to sell. Woodchip will be bagged up, ready to be sold to use around your Paddock or Garden. Excess or unusable wood and chip will be stored seperately, until we are able to sell it as Biomass.
